Last tournament: Saturday , October 24th, 2009

Dear friends and fans of Muaythai in Quebec:

Finally, after almost one year of amateur Muaythai inaction in Quebec, another tournament took take place at Tristar Gym on Saturday, October 24 th, 2009.

This time some of the best amateur muaythai athletes in Ontario  traveled to Montreal to face some of our best as well!

There are about 15 fights scheduled including an Eastern Canadian Amateur Muaythai title belt!

Daosawan Muaythai Club was proud once again to be part of this event with 4 (maybe 5 ) athletes of our own!

All of them first timers...but they  for sure made us all proud as they all trained extremely hard for this one and were ready to put up avgood show!

From Daosawan Muaythai Club, Montreal, here was our team:

1-Nicolas Primeau, 125 lbs, ( 0-0); Result: Lost on points;

2-Alain Fouet, 137 lbs , (0-0); Result: Lost on points;

3-Tuan Nguyen, 165 lbs, (0-0);  Result: Lost on points;

4-JP Davilmar, 195 lbs, (0-0); Result: Win by TKO;

5-Felix Bernatchez , 135 lbs, (0-0) Result: Win on points;

This event once again was not the best in terms of organization, refereeing, etc, but  it was better than nothing!

Thank you to ll that showed up to encourage our guys and therefore contributed to the growth of this sport in Quebec! 

Greater things are on the way...including the creation of a new Quebec Amateur Muaythai Association...(AQMA) that has the mandate in Quebec to officially represent the (CMTC-A) Canadian Muay Thai Council-Amateur!

For all those who are out there and love muaythai (amateur and pro) , students, fighters,  trainers, promotors, etc...here`s a good chance to get involved !
